Privacy Policy
Your memories in the Fragio app and the fragments submitted on this website follow different data paths. This policy explains both.
Updated September 29, 2026
Information in the app
Fragio stores your display name, birthday, memories, comments, moods, tags, names you mention, to-dos, reminders and completion history, photos, stickers, scanned 3D models, retained scan photos, optional locations and preferences locally on your device. These support your timeline, search, media, tasks and reminders; birthday organizes your life timeline. Mentioned names come from your entries, not your address book. The app has no account system, developer-operated cloud sync, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or developer-operated upload service for your memories.
Photo selection and date matching
You can add selected photos through the system picker. Match Photos separately requests Photos access to find images by capture date within the selected day, week or year; limited access restricts results to the photos you allow. Only images you confirm are added to memories. Matching reads capture dates and, when present, the location saved with selected photos. Apple Photos may download originals or thumbnails from iCloud when needed, according to your Apple settings. This is separate from a Fragio cloud sync service.
Camera and image processing
Using the camera to make a sticker or scan an object requires camera permission. Subject selection and cutout run on the device. The current camera-sticker flow saves the selected cutout in the memory; the source photo is temporary processing input and is not saved in the memory or automatically added to Apple Photos. Object scanning has a separate source-photo retention policy described below. Existing copies in Apple Photos are managed separately and may sync through iCloud Photos under your Apple settings.
3D scans and source photos
On supported devices, Apple Object Capture and photogrammetry process captured images on the device to create a 3D model and preview. Scan photos may include surrounding people, objects and background details, as well as metadata saved in the source files. Fragio keeps source photos by default for export or later reconstruction. Settings → Data & Privacy → Scan Photos lets you choose automatic removal after saving a newly scanned object. This preference does not delete photos already retained for existing models. You can delete retained photos in the model viewer while keeping the model. Scan work files are temporary and are cleaned up when the scan session ends.
Current location and photo locations
Record Location Automatically is optional and uses location permission to attach your current coordinates, accuracy, time and a place name when saving a new memory. It does not continuously track you in the background. Turning it off stops this automatic current-location capture. Photo locations are separate: importing date-matched photos can copy the first available photo location into the memory even when automatic location recording is off. Both paths can send coordinates to Apple Maps to look up a place name. Apple location and map services process these requests under their own policies. Turning off a permission or setting does not remove locations already saved. You can keep writing text without granting location access.
Reminders and widgets
With notification permission, Fragio schedules local notifications containing reminder titles and times through iOS; it does not use a developer push server for these reminders. The app shares daily memory counts, reminder titles, schedules, completion states, language and appearance settings with its widget through a local shared container. Widget actions can also save reminder completion locally. Reminder titles may be visible in notifications, on the Home Screen or Lock Screen according to your system settings. You can change notification previews, disable notifications or remove the widget in iOS.
Exports, backups and sharing
JSON exports can contain your profile, birthday, memory text, comments, photos, locations, to-dos, 3D models and retained scan source files. When scan photos are available, the main model-sharing action exports an Object.zip package containing the model and source photos; Share model exports the USDZ model alone. Source files may retain metadata and background details. Shared cards or files may reveal personal content, so review them before sharing. You choose the destination, whose provider handles the files under its own policies. Device backups and iCloud Photos may hold separate copies according to your Apple settings. Fragio does not provide its own automatic cloud backup or sync.
Retention, deletion and blur
Saved content remains in the app until you delete or replace it. Deleting a memory removes its database record and associated comments, images, models and retained scan photos; the app has no general trash or undo for this action. Deleting an attachment also removes its associated model and scan photos, while deleting only scan photos keeps the model. Database space may be reused before the file shrinks; storage cleanup is not a promise of secure erasure. Blur is visual masking, not encryption or access control. Deleting content in Fragio does not delete Apple Photos copies, earlier exports, backups, files received by others or website submissions. Deleting the app removes its local app data through iOS; offloading the app retains its documents and data. We cannot remotely recover or erase your local memories.
Your permission choices
You can change camera, Photos, location and notification access in iOS Settings, and adjust automatic location recording and scan-photo retention within Fragio. Denying a permission affects the related feature; text memories remain available. Revoking permission stops future access allowed by that permission, but does not delete content already imported or saved. Use the app’s deletion controls and separately manage copies in Photos, Files, backups and sharing services.
This website is different
If you submit a fragment on the homepage, its text and creation time, including the submitted time-zone offset, are sent to our Cloudflare-hosted service and stored in Cloudflare KV. Submitted fragments are retrievable through a public endpoint without sign-in and may be copied by others. Do not submit private memories or sensitive information here. Website fragments are separate from your app and are not synced to it. The website also stores an aggregate like count. There is currently no automatic expiry or self-service deletion for submissions, and deleting the app does not remove them.
Website providers and support
The website uses Cloudflare hosting and Google Fonts. Loading its pages or fonts sends normal request information, such as IP address and browser details, to those providers. Cloudflare observability is enabled for service operation and troubleshooting and may retain request and error logs. These website requests are separate from the app’s local memory storage. If you contact support, the information you voluntarily send is used to understand and respond to the request. Send only what is needed; a complete memory export or scan-photo package is not normally necessary.
Changes and questions
This policy describes the current app and website and will be updated when their data handling changes. Help & Support contains the current contact information and any limitations of the available support channel. A privacy question or request about a website submission should include only enough detail to identify the request. Removing a website submission cannot remove copies already saved by other people.
